The Pokémon TCG has had a rich and varied history, and unlike something like Magic The Gathering which has had only two major card designs—”Retro” and “Modern”—the Pokémon TCG has had at least… four.
If you want to start making your own custom fake cards, the easiest thing to do is just choose the card design you like the most and start from there. But maybe you want to try something different? This page aims to cover all the major card design families from over the years, as well as provide you with links on where you can download blanks for your own use. Some downloads are free, some are paid; regardless, this page will cover the best and/or historically significant blanks ever released.
Consider that different iterations of the same design family (such as Dark Pokémon, Pokémon-EX, etc) are not considered a unique blank but simply part of that design family. If you want to see more about those, check out the Getting Back Into Making Fake Cards page.
- Official Releases — all the known card designs, split into four eras for easy searching
- Japanese-era — covering Expansion Pack (1996) through to Darkness, and to Light… (2001); note that starting with the Card-E sets, both design standards effectively merged
- Wizards-era — covering Base Set (1999) through to Skyridge (2003)
- TPC-era — everything from EX Ruby/Sapphire (2003) through to Call of Legends (2011)
- Expanded-era — all designs since Black/White (2011) through to the most recent sets (2025)

Japanese Base Set
I’m planning on this release, as it’s a simple matter of just converting my Japanese Neo with newer borders. |
![]() |
Japanese Gym
I guess this counts as a separate family, even though all they did was remove the flavor text box with a gym badge. Anyways, this should be easy to make once I finish the Japanese Base blanks. I even have the gym badges done up! ![]() |

Japanese Neo
I made a Neo Gendai release for these blanks! It covers not just all the types of cards found in the original Japanese Neo releases, but it also includes custom designs (Dragon-type, Fairy-type). There’s even an English version of this design, emulating the style of speculation blanks we used to make before Neo Genesis was released. Neat! Download links below: If you want more info about what is in these blanks, visit this page: Japanese Neo Blanks |

Shadowless – 1st Edition Base Set
I’m surprised that no one, after all these years, ever made a set of these blanks… so I ended up making them myself! This is the complete collection of Shadowless blanks, including types that were never made for them (Darkness, Metal, Dragon, Fairy). If you want more info about these blanks, click here: Shadowless Blanks |

Unlimited – Unlimited Base Set through Team Rocket |

Gym – Gym Heroes & Gym Challenge |

Neo – Neo Genesis through Neo Revelations

Neo Destiny – Neo Destiny
This is a weird situation where the style was updated for some reason to—among other things—add a shadow underneath the info bar and other minor changes. Honestly I don’t think anyone is going to make a full set of blanks for these unless they’re a friggin mad-lad. |

Historical Releases
PA!’s Original Blanks (1999-2004)
![]() |
These never disappeared from the internet! You can still download PA!’s classic blanks at the following links, including all the various styles, types, and versions.
Pretty nifty archive of all of my old blanks, eh? Well, barring the very first versions of my blanks, which I’ll need to bring back somehow. Sla, I got nothin’. |
Unauthorized, Unofficial Pokémon Zeo Blanks Archive (2001-2004)
![]() |
Alveinhero on the PA! Discord has originally contacted me about this after I mentioned in a post that Pokémon Zeo‘s blanks all seem to be offline. Apparently Zeo superfans kyatt7 and angurisneo had archived whatever they could of Zeo‘s blanks a while back, and so Alveinhero sent me whatever blanks he could of that original archive. And since I still get a few hits from people searching for Zeo‘s old blanks (see pic below)… I guess, for the sake of posterity, we’ll have a collection of Zeo‘s blanks here on PA!. At least until Zeo decides to come back online and bring them all back again. BEHOLD! THE SECOND COMING OF ZEO IS UPON US! (They’re in line right behind Jesus.)
![]() That said, not all of Zeo‘s original blanks were archived. In fact, the only sets of blanks which were complete are their Card-E and Neo Gym blanks… though I’m sure you could splice some of their blanks together to recreate other blanks of their’s. Anyways, below is the full list of blanks that is part of the Zeo Blanks Archive: Look good to you? Well, just click on the link to download the archive (34.2 MB .RAR download):
Of course if you happen to have any Zeo blanks left over and would like to contribute to the archive, then send them our way! Alternatively, if anyone higher up on the Zeo inner staff wants to be the ones to host their blanks archive, by all means go for it! I’ll post a link instead to send everyone your way. In the mean time tho, this’ll have to do.

Enjoy!
